Do the teacher’s keep the parents informed if the students are not doing well?
Parents have access to scholar’s grades through our Power School Parent portal. Parents will
see grades and behavior. Progress report goes out 4 times in the quarter.

What are the office hours?
Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m – 3:40 p.m
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Will MPA offer in-person learning as well as hybrid learning?
The safety and wellbeing of our school community is essential. We are hopeful that this short pause to in-person learning will play a positive role in slowing the spread by us being proactive to Covid, rather than reactive. We will continue to monitor and assess the status of the pandemic in our area and keep everyone updated. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the main office at 313-494-8141.
What type of activities do you have after school?
We are very excited to have the opportunity to serve you and your scholars through our virtual learning platform. Our programs offered are first come first served and invite only (tryouts, membership, partnership, etc). From 3:00 pm–5:00 pm (Mon, Tue, Thurs & Fri). We will be providing your scholar with the opportunity to learn skills in music, media, mentoring, sports, financial literacy and many more! There are 3 sessions of different clubs throughout the 2021-2022 school year.
What time does school start and end on Wednesdays?
Wednesday schedule is 8:15-1:15
How many students are in a classroom?
Our target is 25 scholars in each class.
Do you have a football and basketball team?
Not competitive just team building and recreational Basketball only.
How many students are in kindergarten?
Our Target is 25
What is the dress code?
Maroon shirt with the MacDowell logo and khaki pants. Shirts are sold at the school–we are offering a

TRANSPORTATION FAQ
What areas do the school bus service cover?
The school bus service has a 5 mile radius. The bus DOES NOT make door to door stops. The bus makes corner stops to accommodate multiple families at one stop.
