Caring, Neighborhood School

Over 90% of our scholars live within a 1.5 mile radius of the school. This, along with right-sized enrollment and manageable class sizes, creates a close-knit community where scholars feel safe and are able to develop meaningful relationships with adults

Academics - A holistic approach

Of course, the academic skills necessary to succeed are central to our program. We also prioritize a holistic approach to learning by purposefully integrating character development and cultivating a scholar’s sense of self. Each aspect is critical to developing happy, stable and successful human beings.

Meaningful Enrichment

Mission

MacDowell operationalizes its vision through its mission to instill in its scholars the SKILL and WILL to prepare them for success in college and life.

Core Values

We believe that each student is important and valued, in offering structure and guidance for every child, in transparency and integrity, in providing leadership opportunities for the staff and students, in fostering good, healthy reciprocal relationships, in student, school and community engagement and in providing an environment where children are fully supported and feel comfortable opening up.
